Feeric Fashion Week 2025: A Radical Start to Creativity and Consciousness
The air in Sibiu crackled with electric anticipation as Feeric Fashion Week 2025 kicked off, marking a bold new chapter in the realm of fashion. Day one was an audacious statement filled with raw creativity and an intense commitment to sustainability, making it clear that the future of fashion is bright, conscious, and daringly avant-garde.
The opening act, “Timeless Threads” by Hooldra, set the tone for the event, pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo. This collection brilliantly morphed second-hand garments into high-fashion statements, harnessing the power of deconstruction and regeneration. The 1960s aesthetic applied in innovative ways spoke to the rugged beauty of reimagining the old while paving a path toward more ethical practices. With over 3,000 kilograms of textile waste collected, Hooldra is not just participating in the conversation about sustainability; they are leading the charge, encouraging us all to rethink our consumption habits and move towards a more revolutionary form of style.

Next, Wijnruit’s OP:1 collection took us on a reflective journey through memory and identity, utilizing recycled materials to craft pieces that bridge generations. Military canvas, lace, and other eclectic fabrics formed modular silhouettes, reminding us that fashion is not just about aesthetics—it’s about storytelling and connection.

The first collective presentation took place atFeeric Venue, hosted this year by Promenada Sibiu, featuring innovative international fashion education initiatives. Participants included the Ukrainian Fashion Education Group, Newgiza University, New Bulgarian University, Almog Pinto Cohen, and “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad. The models paraded gracefully through a diaphanous setting, illustrating the transformative power of innovation coupled with academic training in shaping the future of the fashion sector, highlighting the urgency of innovation and inclusivity in fashion. The models walked the stage like living canvases, embodying the vision of a future where fashion knows no bounds.

Ana Farima’s exhibition, “Bodaprosti”, offered a stunning exploration of childhood memories expressed through clothing. Infusing eco-leather made from plant scraps into traditional craftsmanship, Farima artfully blended the old with the new, capturing the essence of nostalgia in pieces that are not just wearable but deeply personal.
In a daring twist, the underground parking lot at Promenada Sibiu became a curated gallery of contemporary art during two stunning shows. INSIDE Upcycling Couture showcased “Appearance of Transition │ Transition of Appearance,” a mesmerizing narrative on transformation, featuring avant-garde pieces that danced between light and shadow.

Meanwhile, WE – Wilczewska Emilia’s “DOM” collection embodied the notion of home as a sanctuary. The clever use of materials like cushions and curtains into fashion pieces provoked thought about comfort and safety in an increasingly chaotic world.

The day closed with a striking exhibition of graduate works from the National University of Arts Bucharest, brimming with diversity and daring experimentation.

Michal Duraj from the Faculty of Art in Wroclaw, Poland with his collection “Escapism,” inspired by the haunting themes of The Virgin Suicides, captivated with its melancholic yet beautiful creations, illustrating a delicate and poetic vision of existence.
