The film explores the social pressures and expectations that are put on individuals. By treating the model as an innominate object, the model becomes a plain canvas which can be shaped and refigured by the costume they are draped in. As a malleable object, their identity lies in the hands of the dresser, who can strip or add at a whim, further erasing any sense of individual expression of the wearer.
The video is pervaded by a strained atmosphere, reflecting one person’s need for control over another. Though it can be seen as an exaggeration of reality, it still echoes the structural forces which define our existence.
