B GOLDEN is a fashion jewelry brand from Luanda – Angola. 

Fashion designer Brenda dos Santos decided to create a jewelry brand inspired by her grandmother, because of her passion for accessories which she can relate to and is also passionate about. B Golden is the first brand in Angola that opened a store for jewelry and accessories only. The brand is inspired by both an older generation and the young one. They want people to be themselves specially when it comes to details.

The brand works with several types of material: semi-jewelry, gold plated, stainless steel, glass, zirconia stones and others. They have an assortment of earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets, sunglasses, watches, body accessories with modern, sophisticated, innovative designs of multiple variations for women and little girls. The brand works with a factory that supplies all the material, Brenda dos Santos idealizes, creates her sketches and they produce the pieces. She “believes that women have the power to achieve great things. The smallest detail can always make you feel confident, loved, beautiful and strong in your own skin”.

Tell us about yourself as creative, including what art means for you as a jewelry designer. 

I can be very creative sometimes and have the best ideas ever, I feel like that my inspirations come from the simplest things, I can be just looking at a leaf and have a great idea from it. I am a very private person and like to always have things under control, until the idea is not formulated in my head, I will not say a thing. Art is very important in our lives, but I think I create the art in my own way, I try to express myself through small details. Art is what your mind creates, imagines 

Tell us about your design style. What makes your collections unique in the industry? 

A little bit more about some of my collections it’s because of their unique way to show what I want in a simple detail, it’s very specific. Designs should tell a story, maybe just to show a feeling or a type of mood. It was created to show that we can look like a billion dollar without having to waste millions.

What kind of person wears your jewelry? 

Actually, when people ask me what kind of person wears my jewelry, I always answer the same, every kind and that’s amazing that I know that all kinds of people can wear my jewelry. It was made to make everyone feel comfortable about themselves and much more confident.

As a designer, where do you draw your inspiration from?

My inspiration mostly comes from my daily routine or from pieces my grandma used to wear, I try to think in a much more innovative way to create or it can be something just very spontaneous.

How innovative techniques are important for a jewelry brand? 

I think for a jewelry brand innovative techniques are important because it make the production process faster and get the product faster to the clients.

What’s it like to see someone on the street wearing one of your creations?

I think it’s the most gratifying thing that can happen it means we are in the right direction.

What are the news in the jewelry design industry regarding slow-fashion and long-lasting pieces? 

I think it’s an industry that is growing a lot and will keep growing, especially when there are accessories that last a long time, and the quality is amazing, and we can make it vintage.

How important is technology for your jewelry brand? 

Technology is important because it helps us grow and create a better.

Who are your favorite creatives you would like to collaborate with? 

My favorites I would like to collaborate would be the Gaia Repossi, I feel like her designs are sure the ones I can identify myself with.

What advice would you give to someone interested in getting into the jewelry design business? 

I would advise them that to start a jewelry design business they would have to give their all and make sure that they need to give 80% of their time to start and 70% to keep going.

What is your favorite piece you’ve ever created – and what made it so special? 

My favorite pieces are for sure my pair of earrings Shooting Stars they just have the most elegant presence in the ears.
